Mohammad Ghazvini, MD, FACC, FHRS

Dr. Ghazvini specializes in electrophysiology procedures to correct a variety of cardiac arrhythmias. He has extensive experience in performing cardiac ablations and implanting pacemakers, biventricular devices, and defibrillators. Dr. Ghazvini is a pioneer in Catheter ablation without using Xray, which is extremely important for patients who do not desire exposure to excessive Xray; He has performed over a thousand of such procedures, including in pregnancy. The outcome of his procedures has been excellent, with a very low rate of complication.

Dr. Ghazvini is board certified in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He has served for nine years as an Assistant Professor and Director of Invasive Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology Laboratory at Haward University Hospital and College of Medicine.

He also currently serves as Director of cardiac ablation and Electrophysiology at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. Dr. Ghazvini has been recognized as a distinct teacher and educator.

Dr. Ghazvini completed an Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology Fellowship training at Haward University Hospital. He subsequently pursued two more years of advanced fellowship training in Cardiac Electrophysiology at George Washington University Hospital.
